Mattsuzaka from Chuck Norris Ate My Baby programmed a double for us this week of unconventional love stories.

Music this week:
Chemlab – Exile on mainline (NYC Mobile Unit demo)

Friend of the show Cody requested a double this week focusing on a city cop taking on a group of backwoods criminals… and of course had to keep it classy in the 80s!

First we review some sweat and some hair and some more hair and Lorenzo Lamas in SNAKE EATER!

Next is a lesser (?) known film starring James Remar from 1986… taking on some vicious pot dealers in QUIET COOL

Friday March 15th, 2013 07:00 Episode 82: Comin out your TV

Symmetry-isnt-his-thing

Josh from Capn Howdy’s Blogorium programmed (get it?) a double for us this week… one proooobably more suited to Loaf’s tastes over Zom’s. Two films about creepy shit coming out of your television.

The first film we review is the very colorful very zany TERRORVISION from 1986 about a mutated alien zapping into the lives of a bizarre fifties/eighties hybrid family.

Then we discuss the low budget zombie flick THE VIDEO DEAD from 1987, with an apparently possessed television.

And Zom groans

Music this week:
The Cramps – TV Set
The Misfits – TV Casualty
the Stooges – T.V. Eye

l_epreuve_de_force_the_gauntlet_1977_portrait_w858

Our double feature this week is linked rather tenuously by some big vehicles… mainly armored buses!

The first film we review is a Clint Eastwood helmed film about transporting a prisoner that many people want dead… 1977’s THE GAUNTLET.

We then move to the Texas/Mexico border for a little Jean Claude Van Dame and Scott Adkins actioner called THE SHEPHERD BORDER PATROL.

Music this week:
Billy Bunks – Devil’s Clay
Pantera – The Great Southern Trendkill
Blue Oyster Cult – Shooting Shark (lyrics)

Friday February 22nd, 2013 18:14 Episode 79: Something for Something by Warhol

images

Zom and loaf reach out of the wheelhouse a little and tackle some Paul Morrissey fronted, Andy Warhol funded horror films from mid-70s Italy.

First we discuss the rather gruesome FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN from 1973, then follow it up with BLOOD FOR DRACULA from 1974

Lots of bad Udo Kier accents, Dallesandro cock talk, and general foolery!

Music this week:
Barry Booth – He’s Very Good With His Hands
Iggy Pop – Lust For Life
Public Service Broadcasting – Everest

Friday February 15th, 2013 07:00 Episode 78: Frenchman Vengeance

Our double feature films this week share a couple themes in common… they are about French gentlemen hunting three men to get some revenge… and they explore the meaning of vengeance itself. Completely coincidental, I assure you, as we are just not that smart.

The first film reviewed is a 1975 eurocrime of sorts by the name of L’AGRESSION or Act of Aggression.

The second is Johnnie To’s 2009 film VENGEANCE

Music this week:
King Missile – Detachable Penis
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – The Mercy Seat
EL-P – Deep Space 9mm

Listeners Davey Mac and Ken The Fourth Musketeer inspired a double feature this week… what was originally slated to be a Magnificent Bastard entry ended up being more a themed episode… that being appearances of legendary stunt driver Bill Hickman

The first film we discuss is the I Spy reuinion neo-noir of Cosby and Culp in 1972’s HICKEY AND BOGGS

Then we tackle an unofficial kinda somewhat maybe sequel to The French Connection with 1973’s THE SEVEN-UPS

Gentlemen, start your engines.

Music this week:
Death In Vegas – Your Loft
Khia – My Neck My Back (Lick It)
Soul Asylum-Cant Even Tell

Friday February 1st, 2013 15:20 Episode 76: Sleazy Dafoe

As a thank you to Good James for co-hosting the show last week, we let him choose our double this week. He went with a sleazy Dafoe theme and gave us some stilted classics(?).

The first film we discuss is the very first Katherine Bigelow feature… 1982’s THE LOVELESS with Dafoe as a greaser biker muddafugga

The second film reviewed is David Lynch’s perhaps most accessible film… a still very odd WILD AT HEART from 1990.

Let’s get sweaty

And lookout forsome awesome new entries to the Eye Of The Tiger karaoke contest

Thanks as always to James!

Music this week
The Horrors – Who Can Say
Harvey Milk – Get It Up & Get It On
Volbeat – A Warrior’s Call
