Sunday May 5th, 2013 21:00 Episode 89: Sly With A Blonde

nighthawks3000

After much begging and pleading by our most prolific celebrity feedsacker, we decided to finally cover a couple Sly films. While we weren’t quite ready to jump to Magnificent Bastard status, (and as ol Russ was given this honor last week), we did find a tenuous link between two early-80s Sly flicks… him with a blonde!

The first film reviewed is NIGHTHAWKS… a smaller film with Rutger Hauer that fell between the now behemoths Rocky 2 and First Blood. Then we confront the harder to find romantic(?) comedy RHINESTONE with Dolly Parton.

Saturday September 15th, 2012 21:44 Episode 56: Out of Place, Out of Time

Loaf and Zom are joined this week by the one and only Jake McLargeHuge, from the fantastic Asian film podcast Podcast Without Honor and Humanity, who dropped by to play with us and review a couple films about dudes not quite in their right time.

The first film discussed is a Terry Gilliam film from fairly early on in his post-Monty Python career… one appealing to young and old alike… 1981’s TIME BANDITS.

Next we jump ahead a decade to a quite different film starring Sly and Snipes, the at times over the top DEMOLITION MAN from 1993.

Epic long show this week

Lots to sink your pointy teeth into

Bon apetit!

Music this week:
Led Zeppelin – How Many More Times
Duran Duran – Vertigo (Do The Demolition)
Talking Heads – This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)

Friday January 20th, 2012 07:00 Episode 22: Magnificent Bastard Caine

Thanks go out this week to Brian from the Hammicus Podcast for programming our first official magnificent bastard double feature – two Michael Caine classics!

The first is a 1966 film based on a stage play called Alfie. Lots of tail to be had including an almost young Shelley Winter!

The second film combines soccer/football and Nazis, so it has to be good, right? Starring not only Caine but also Sylvester Stallone, Pele, and Max von Sydow… 1981’s Escape to Victory

And we talk about buttholes and laugh like children at fart noises.
