Once you get past all the ums we throw out there this week from our apparent lack of rest and possibly lack of preparation (heh), we might just interest you with a royal double feature… The movies themselves have no royalty so to speak, but rather are just named as such.

Before he was Perseus, Harry Hamlin was in this movie called King of the Mountain from 1981. If Hamlin doesn’t tickle your taint, what about an early 80s Dennis Hopper who may or may not have even read the script before acting in it. Or was he acting? Racing on Mullholland Drive… Atari playing… Styx and a leather Member’s Only jacket…

Then we cover a film that seems like it should be bigger than it ever was, King of the Gypsies from 1978, starring a very young Eric Roberts, Judd Hirsch, Susan Sarandon, Shelley Winters, and a woolly bearded, scene chewing Sterling Hayden.

Oh, and our usual banter and off-topic ramblings…

It’s time once again for your favorite show and mine, Silva & Gold!

This week we thought we were simply covering two films each with a group of four individuals wandering in a desert-like setting. What we discovered is that we had a double feature of two movies with characters earning some sort of redemption after a trial in the desert.

The first is one of Lucio Fulci’s few spaghetti westerns, the 1975 film Four of the Apocalypse starring Fabio Testi and Tomas Milian.

Then we discuss Johnnie To’s near-western from 2006 called Exiled. The Gentlemen’s Guide to Midnight Cinema covered this many moons ago. Alas, I cannot remember if they covered Four of the Apocalypse.

We also manage to talk about smelly balls, smelly breath, Fabio getting peed on, and Andre the Giant’s peculiar sex habits.

I’m confused too.

Wow, three weeks in and we’re already releasing epic episodes!

Join us for our near three hour monster where we run the gamut from coal mining to New Jack wrestling at a shitty bar in Georgia.

We also somehow manage to cover Martin Scorsese’s Boxcar Bertha from 1972. He calls it his exploitation film.

And just for good measure, we throw in a little bit of Hobo With A Shotgun from 2011. Spoiler alert…. one of us is pretty pissed about having to watch this one!

Time for a brand spankin new episode of Silva & Gold. This week Zom and I review two films loosely related by their inclusion of a Hollywood staple, the redneck lawman.

First we discuss 1976’s Jackson County Jail with Yvette Mimieux and Tommy Lee Jones, a cult film produced by Roger Corman.

Next up is 1985’s Final Justice with the legendary Joe Don Baker playing the rather comical Deputy Sheriff Thomas Jefferson Geronimo III.
