Sunday November 17th, 2013 18:00 Episode 115: Italian Gore

the-beyond-5

We were gonna cover a couple Italian films with flesh eaters in it, but unfortunately the zombies weren’t hungry in one… so we’re just going with an italian gore theme instead!

First we talk about Lucio Fulci’s THE BEYOND from 1981… and also from 1981 we move to Umberto Lenzi’s CANNIBAL FEROX!

Music this week:
Circle Of Tyrants-Carnivores
Steve Miller Band – Jungle Love
FOCKEWULF 190 – Body Heat

Friday October 12th, 2012 19:51 Episode 60: Not Quite Running Man

On this week’s show, we go forward in time to a couple dystopias and review some films with life and death gameshows… two films that aren’t quite Running Man

Even though both came before the Running Man movie….

Yeah…

The first film we review is Joe D’Amato’s ENDGAME – more Mad Max than Running Man, but at least featuring some televised violence with George Eastman!

The second is our second Lucio Fulci film on the show… this time sci fi (the first was a western)… NEW GLADIATORS. Also from 1984, this one has some Fred “The Hammer” Williamson action for ya!

Music this week:
The Raincoats – Life On The Line
A Tribe Called Quest – Show Business
Gene Harris & The Three Sounds – You Got To Play The Game

Saturday September 10th, 2011 09:37 Episode 4: Redemption Through Exile

It’s time once again for your favorite show and mine, Silva & Gold!

This week we thought we were simply covering two films each with a group of four individuals wandering in a desert-like setting. What we discovered is that we had a double feature of two movies with characters earning some sort of redemption after a trial in the desert.

The first is one of Lucio Fulci’s few spaghetti westerns, the 1975 film Four of the Apocalypse starring Fabio Testi and Tomas Milian.

Then we discuss Johnnie To’s near-western from 2006 called Exiled. The Gentlemen’s Guide to Midnight Cinema covered this many moons ago. Alas, I cannot remember if they covered Four of the Apocalypse.

We also manage to talk about smelly balls, smelly breath, Fabio getting peed on, and Andre the Giant’s peculiar sex habits.

I’m confused too.
