As a thank you to Good James for co-hosting the show last week, we let him choose our double this week. He went with a sleazy Dafoe theme and gave us some stilted classics(?).
The first film we discuss is the very first Katherine Bigelow feature… 1982’s THE LOVELESS with Dafoe as a greaser biker muddafugga
The second film reviewed is David Lynch’s perhaps most accessible film… a still very odd WILD AT HEART from 1990.
Let’s get sweaty
And lookout forsome awesome new entries to the Eye Of The Tiger karaoke contest
Thanks as always to James!

This week on Ye Olde Silva & Gold we cover a couple films about men adjusting to life after prison. They are quite different, but share some definite common themes.
First we talk about a probably underseen Richard Farnsworth film from 1982 called The Grey Fox, a biopic that has Farnsworth playing The Gentlemen Bandit Bill Miner who has just been released from a 33 year prison term in 1903 only to discover a far different society.
Next we jump into another probably underseen film from 1978 starring Dustin Hoffman in a rare tough guy role as Max Dembo in Straight Time. Busey, M. Emmitt Walsh, Cathy Bates, Harry Dean Stanton… this one’s chock full of fun.
Music this week:
Iron Maiden – The Prisoner
Melvins – Set Me Straight
The Cramps – Jailhouse Rock

We got ourselves a punks changing roles double feature for ya this week!
This was originally going to be an old cars double feature, but Netflix lied to us about our first film reviewed, 2003’s THE MAN OF THE YEAR. You don’t get Robin Williams, but instead a dyed blonde Brazilian, some hot women, guns, and a pet pig named Bill.
Next we did a very punk rock movie directed by Alex Cox from 1984…. REPO MAN. At least we get the old cars in here, and any chance to see Harry Dean Stanton probably makes it worth the price of admission.
Zom is drugged, Loaf stutters, it’s fun for all!
